Ever felt like you’re wilting and need fertilizer? What is your body trying to tell you? Well, maybe it is screaming for help.
At the end of the summer, most nurseries put all their seasonal plants on sale at 50% off? By August these plants no longer receive a daily watering and their leaves are withering and turning brown. If you take the risk and buy one, bring it home and soak it in gallons of water, often times it will perk right back up!
Well, the same thing goes for your body. It needs lots of water and nourishing food. You are a live, perennial, ever-blooming plant. If you don’t get the water and food your body is screaming for, your leaves will start to wrinkle and droop, and if you continue not to hydrate and feed your body, it will start screaming for help through headaches, aches and pains, lack of energy and motivation, depression, and a myriad of other scream diseases.
How to Stop the Screaming: DRINK WATER AND EAT WHOLE FOODS
- Your body craves purified water. Begin drinking first thing in the morning. I know you are tempted to grab coffee for a little jolt, but resist this dehydrating habit. Keep a case of bottled water in your bedroom closet and grab a bottle as soon as you get up. That gets you drinking water right away. Get over the arguments about how harmful bottle water is. It’s better than not drinking any water. I buy Ice Mountain brand which I find at Meijers. Or since there is a Walmart in every city, buy Sam’s Choice reverse osmosis, or whatever kind you want. Just drink water.
By the time I ever step foot into my kitchen, I have 32 ounces of water floating through my kidneys because I drink 2 bottles. I then switch to a strawed cup that holds 16 oz and fill it with distilled water and organic lemon juice. This is an example of the cup I use. I just keep refilling it throughout the day. I buy bottled organic lemon juice at Costco, but all health food stores carry it. I make distilled water from an H2O water distiller that I love. It is simple to use and takes up very little space. I keep it in my laundry room. No filters to worry about. Just have to clean it as directed. Drinking herbal tea is another great source of hydration.
- Your body craves whole food. Your body is asking for nourishing, vital and energy producing foods to keep every inch of you vibrant and moving. You need to begin the day setting your mind straight on what it will be feeding your body all day long. Don’t allow your mind to destroy your body. EACH day begins with a life-giving mindset. If your mind starts asking for a donut or cinnamon bagel, close your eyes and switch that thought immediately.
It’s okay if your body and mind argue on occasion. Trust me, they definitely will. Hopefully, soon your mind will notice a healthful improvement in your body and the two will begin to agree.
When you go to the kitchen, ask yourself what foods you have in your refrigerator that God grew for you to eat? Find the fruits, vegetables, raw nuts, seeds and whole grains. Throw out the harmful foods so they don’t tempt you. Try beginning the day cutting up vegetables as if you were making a huge salad. Then enjoy being nourished by the radishes, carrots, cauliflower, mango, nuts (whatever you have on hand) as you are chopping them. You just accomplished two things! Ate breakfast and cut up veggies for lunch and supper.
Break away from the Bacon and Eggs mindset. That originated when folks only had pigs and chickens to subsist off of. You have access to a year-round garden in every grocery store. You can choose from the wide assortment of nourishing foods God has given you; foods that nourish your body’s needs.
As you are cutting and chopping, thank God for growing the best-tasting medicine in the world. You are now set for lunch and supper with all your prepped veggies. Try a Stir fry, roasted veggies, or steamed veggies. Yummy! Keep life simple.
Dare to be different. Your body will be so happy!
