“Start living your life fearlessly.”
That’s what I saw when I flipped my “Words to Live By” calendar from May to June.
During the summer I like to push myself to do at least one thing that’s outside of my comfort zone, so that sounded like good advice for the month.
I began contemplating what I would do to live fearlessly:
*Take a class?
*Go on a retreat?
*Visit a place I haven’t seen before?
So many possibilities! So little time!
I moved a bit further along the fearless path by signing up for a couple of classes and checking out books from the library about personal/self-guided retreats. I congratulated myself for being willing to move forward and make progress.
But, after thinking about it some more, I realized much of my clutter is a result of living fearfully. How many of the things in my house are there because I’m fearful:
*What do I keep because I “might” need it some day?
*Why am I hanging on to items I never use?
*How many duplicates of items do I need in case one breaks?
That’s when I decided: Maybe the place I’ll visit this summer is my home. I’ll:
*Look at it with fresh eyes by taking photos of each room.
*Box up out of season items I want to keep.
*Share duplicate items with people who need them.
The photos will also serve as a “before” so I have a frame of reference when I get discouraged. If I’m feeling very fearless, perhaps I’ll share a couple of “before” and “after” photos at the end of the summer!
What does “Start living your life fearlessly.” mean to you?
*Do you want to add something to your life?
*Are there things or activities in your life that are a result of living fearfully?
*What step will you take toward living fearlessly?
My Friend, let me know whatever it is you want to let go of and I’ll be cheering you on to victory. Don’t be “afraid”! Whatever fear you have, LET IT GO.
Goodbye (to living fearfully),
